Can it be done? Anything can be done, but the question is practicallity and resource availability. Setting practicallity aside, there are metals required and some desert islands might have them and some might not. On the practicallity issue, the first major hurdle would be the simple fact that conductive wire just isn't something that is naturally occurring. If you had copper ore or any other metal suitable for making wire, you'd have to be able to purify it, create enough heat to melt it, and draw it into wire. And you'd have to be able to cover it with insulation. You mentioned a watch, you won't get much wire from that. You'd have copper from pennies. It'd be a stretch. And the other components may be more challenging. Not to mention the fact that any effort would better be spent on survival and construction of a boat.
