I think what you need now is vice grips if I understand the question.

There are a number of different ways you can get a nut off if it is rounded. Many depend on what tools you have. You could take a file or a grinder and put new flats on the nut, then use a 1 size fits all wrench to remove the nut. You can also chisel it on two sides and it will split in half. A pair of pliers or vice grips may work, but that will depend on how tight the nut is.
Good luck.

Get a nut splitter then buy a new nut. Simple and easy as long as the nut splitter can fit into place for it to work. Also, try to save part of that nut for the hardware store to replace it with the correct size and thread pattern.

If possible, you could saw half off it off with a hacksaw. Other options are using a samll hand held grinder to grind new flats, or vice grips. Either way if you rounded the nut, you sould use some type of penetrating oil or lubricant as it is probably seezed.

You have a couple of options:
-Grind/cut it off with an abrasive wheel
-Tack weld a 12" steel rod to the nut to give you leverage to break it free (you can then cut the tack weld with a grinder and unscrew the nut.
-If it's an acorn nut you can weld a hex key to the top of it, then put a pipe on the "L" part of the key to torque it loose.

I broke off a bolt one time on the exhaust of my motorcycle. I spent ALL DAY on Saturday trying to use an EZ-OUT to extract it. Finally I took it to a mechanic and he removed it for me for $10. I wasted all day for $10!!
From then on, I know what to do myself and what I should pay to have done. Time is money to me, too. If the Left-handed monkey wrench or Vice grips don't work, have a pro do it.
GOOD luck

They have tools just for this situation. Sears sells some. Other places sell them as well. Go to a hardware store and ask for them. They cost, but they are worth it if you need to remove a rounded nut.

Auto parts stores sell nut extractors that will remove that problem nut. Just ask for nut extractors at your local parts house
