I have heard all sorts of different things. Legal age to drink, smoke, and sexual consent is 16. To drive is 18. Then I hear it is 18 to drink, 21 for sex, etc. A friend of mine is 17 and wants to move out on her own but her parents say no, she is not legal age to move out.

Anyone have any solid answers?

What about the purchase or viewing of pornography? I am told this is 21 but 18 in some places, never lower than 18.

ages of:
criminal responsibility=10 years
sexual consent=16 years (there is no age limit for males - this does not include homosexuality which the age of consent is 18).
although it is an offence for any person below the age of 18 to purchase cigarettes there is no minimum legal age for smoking.
again there is no minimum age for the consumption of alcohol but it is an offence for anyone under 18 to purchase alcohol.
a provisional driving licence can be applied for at 17.
a person can with their parents consent move out at 16-otherwise it is 18.
for pornography it largely depends on both the supplier and the content-it is an offence to sell buy for or expose anyone under the age of 18 to pornographic material-in some cases ages 21 or even 25 apply.
