Just remember that the hexadecimal system is based on powers of 16, like the decimal system is based on 10. 37 hexadecimal can be expressed as:

[(3 * 16^1) + (7 * 16^0)]
= [(3 * 16) + (7 *1)]
= (48 + 7)
= 55

And since you were asked for -37 hex changed to decimal, your answer is -55.

Things to remember:

- When you make the list of numbers raised to powers, start with rasing to the power of zero at the far right of your equation

- Any number raised to the power of 1 is itself

- Any number raised to the power of 0 is 1

It will get easier as you do more of them, and you can skip a step or two as you get more familiar with how to do the conversion. Hope that helps!

I can tell you 37 hex = 3*16+7 = 55 in dec
but I am not sure what you mean by -37. Computer use 2's complement to represent negative numbers, meaning the top bit is 1, but 37H is not.
