My daughter is in middle school - 8th grade - 13 years old. I do allow her to wear a little bit of make up. Avon has a teen line called "MARK" It is makeup that has been specially formated for young girls. The colors are pink, peach, and opaque colors. It teaches them how to and how much to apply to look natural. I am 100% comfortable allowing my daughter to experiment with Mark products. Just find an AVON representative to get details and brochures.

My first instinct is you have plenty of time to frow up- you dont need make up- BUT
if your parents allow it and you are going to wear it, first, get someone that knows what they are doing to show you how to apply it correctly- you do not want to look 'made up' you want it to accentuate your features.

A light, lightweight cover up is good if you dont have smmoth clear skin- you dont wnat a heavy makeup that will clog oyur pores and cause or worsen akin blemishes. A nice lightweight mineral foundation will bo good to even out your skin tone. From there a lightly tinted gloss and a LITTLE bit of mascara OR eyeliner (not both for your age) and a light colored barely noticeable eyeshadow if you want ot accentuate your eyes- beyond that you don't really need anything else- to be honest no one does.
In the meantime, you are young and you are a girl, have fun- if you want to add a little glitter sparkle- go for it- as long as you are not wearing dark or heavy colors and you dont overdo it with the sparkle or wear it in inappropriate circumstances you should be fine

NONE!

Why?
Consider investigating the historic origins of ALL cosmetics: in every case they originated in emulating or enhancing natural sexual responses, were adopted and promoted by whores as advertising gambits, and mutated into mainstream wear as "coquette-ish" attractants.

Consider also that NO applied product has EVER been proven over time to preserve skin or beauty -- yet many have been proven to be deleterious, even fatally poisonous.

Next think of the financial cost once embarked upon. This could be better spent on general knowledge expansion and personal development. The result would be in rather more tangible attractant/acceptance qualities, more valued by peers.

Finally what message are you encouraging your child to learn: that superficial, vapid , cosmetic appeal is acceptable as is spineless conformity to fad-ism?

I know make-up seems cool and everything, but the truth is that you really don't need it. Lots of girls like it, but you don't have to wear it just because they do. Since I am not your mother, I can't decide, but if she lets you, and you really want to.... then do what you like, but go easy on the make-up. Personally, I don't think it's nesseacary, especially because a lot of kids put on too much, and that just looks plain bad.

Honestly, mascara and lip gloss paired up with a good skin care routine. Nothing else is necessary.

if ure looking for a good brand, cover girl is designed for young women.
but i agree with most of these ppl, keep it small time for now, just lip gloss and mascara, move on to more when you get closer to senior high.
