how much experience do you have? how much money can you afford?
i have always chartered bare-boat, but i don't think i would enjoy much having an extra person on my trip. i am also a very experience sailor.
ultimately i depends on you, as it is your trip!
good luck and have fun!

Skiffs,Launches,Cats,Sloops, Catboats,lots.... Laser is a nicely-family members member, exciting and quickly! leading edge makes them now. purely approximately any Catamaran below 22' could nicely be dealt with relatively. I even have been aboard 9 or ten that have been designed for single coping with. Folksboat,AMF,Vangaurd, Cape Dory and others. purely approximately any sailboat could nicely be Siglehanded, some are set up for that, others are no longer, all lines lead aft is oftentimes an illustration of a SH Setup crusing Vessel. or one that is mushy with one pilot.

When w went to BVI, we opted for a captained boat. Then he is responsible and you can relax. You order food supplies for you and the captain an then he lets you sail and goes where you want. He knows the best restaurants, anchoring holes and swimming areas. in that area the markers that are supposed to be there from the chart are not there.
