Yes, i think so. It's a hateful word and unless you are all having a discussion on Nazi germany i don't think it's appropriate to even bring it up. More than likely he will be rather offended by your comment and you could very well be suspended for it. If this is your first offence you're likely to get an in-school suspention which frankly from what i'm told is worse than the kind were you're stuck at home. Just think about how you would feel if someone said something like that to you and do the smart and right thing here.

A German is not necessarily a nazi.
Calling somebody a nazi is an insulting gutter reference to any decent human being. German is simple nationality, nazi refers to the absolute worst kind of twisted philosophies. It is a defamation of character to refer to anyone as a nazi and if you had any yourself, you would know this.
Otherwise, while you are immediately apologizing (if you really did this) for your disrepect and immaturity, you should also admit that you are quite ignorant and in need more schooling and education.

Yes, you were wrong. Not every German was a Nazi, and few today would appreciate that label.
To lump any people into one type of group, just because of where they were born is immature, so I would pick up my act and learn the history of the second world war. Then you might have an inkling of why that was a nasty thing to say.

Yes, unless he is like 80 and a Nazi. But if he's not then you did wrong. Nazi were REALLY bad people. Really bad, and to call someone that is just well dumb and juvenile. And Germans are really sensitive about that Nazi stuff.

Yes you could be suspended. Just because someone is German does not make them a NAZI.

Just because a person is of German descent, does not make them a Nazi. A Nazi is a follower of Hitler and of the terrible things he did.

yes, the Nazis were evil and so many innocent people died needlessly because of them, this would also be a
poor choice to call anyone a Nazi

I understand if you are trying to play it up for your friends, but don't do it at others' expense, especially your teachers. They are the authority, and they can easily say what you said is disrespect, or verbal abuse to a teacher. I don't think you can be "suspended" for it, but definitly punished. Suspension seems kind of drastic.
