you can't simplify something with more than one equal sign...

Is there a mistake in that? The other persons right, you can't simplify a problem with 2 = signs.

Guessing question to be:-
1 - 3x + 12 = 3 - 2x
13 - 3 = 3x - 2x
x = 10

you cannot answer that because there is 2 equal signs. in an expressions/equation you can only have 1.
