Worry not.
Look, down 0-3 in a playoff series, down by a run going into the ninth in an elimination game with one of the best relievers in history, fresh and rested, coming to the mound, the night after a monstrous 19-8 pounding -- that's time to worry.
Down 1-2? No. Worry not.
And if the Red Sox do get eliminated? Well...
a. they gave it a damn good run;
b. the Yankees are knocked out, so we don't have to suffer THAT any more;
c. MLB is gonna crown a champion, either a virginal franchise or one that has gone near six decades without the champagne. Either one is a good story worth enjoying.
OTOH, if this October has the correct ending -- a parade in Boston in early November -- then
a. we'll be enjoying team success unseen since the 1910s, with the trophies just piling up;
b. Yankees fen will have to give up on their "it'll be another 86 years, ha ha ha" theme, while the current century continues to showcase Red Sox success and Yankee failure;
c. parade! party! champagne!
And while I care little for football, it will be a virtual gauntlet cast down for the Patriots to step up and make room for their own, fourth trophy in the glass case.
I got my one in 2004; if I never see another, I remain content. More would be nice, sure. This is a goodly October no matter how it ends; enjoy. (If for no other reason, then because when it's all over, there are five dismal months until the great game returns. sigh.)

I have to say I am worried as well, but as a Red Sox fan I can't stop believing that everything will come together tonight. We have been in worst position's than this. Wakefield needs to pitch a good game and we need to start hitting. If they lose tonight, that's when I will get real worried.

The Cleveland Indians come into this Game 4 matchup with a 2-1 series lead over the Boston Red Sox, thanks to Monday night’s solid effort by starting pitcher Jake Westbrook in the Indians’ 4-2 win over Boston.
Tonight’s matchup between these two almost evenly matched teams, features two aging veteran starters that still know how to get the job done in Boston’s Tim Wakefield and Cleveland’s Paul Byrd.
Key Red Sox Trends
The Red Sox are 5-0 in Wakefield's last 5 starts on grass.
- The Red Sox are 7-1 in Wakefield's last 8 starts following a Quality Start in his last appearance.
- The Red Sox are 10-3 in Wakefield's last 13 starts after scoring 2 runs or less in their previous game.
Key Indians Trends
The Indians are 5-0 in Byrd's last 5 Tuesday starts.
- The Indians are 5-1 in Byrd's last 6 starts when their opponent scores 2 runs or less in their previous game.
- The Indians are 5-1 in Byrd's last 6 starts after allowing 2 runs or less in their previous game.
Key Totals Trends
The Over is 4-0 in Wakefield's last 4 starts vs. American League Central.
- The Over is 10-1 in Wakefield's last 11 starts on grass.
- The Over is 4-0 in Byrd's last 4 home starts vs. a team with a winning record.
- The Over is 7-1 in Byrd's last 8 home starts.
Key Head-to-Head Trends
- The Under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings in Cleveland.
- The Under is 4-1 in Wakefield's last 5 starts vs. Indians.
- The Red Sox are 9-4 in the last 13 meetings in Cleveland.
The Pitchers: Red Sox starting pitcher Tim Wakefield is 17-12 in 31 starts covering 189.0 innings. Wakefield has 110 strikeouts, 64 walks and an ERA of 4.76.
Indians starting pitcher Paul Byrd is 15-8 in 31 starts covering 192.1 innings. Byrd has 88 strikeouts, 28 walks and a 4.59 ERA.
Analysis: Maybe it’s me, but the Cleveland Indians all of a sudden look like the team with the more confidence – and more importantly – the stronger pitching staff.
With Wakefield and Byrd likely canceling each other out with respectable performances, this game could hinge on the performance of each team’s bullpen – and the timely hitting that has helped Cleveland to their one-game lead. While I think it is still a very real possibility that the Boston Red Sox will win this series, I have to go with the Cleveland Indians to win tonight’s contest and take a 3-1 lead back to Boston with the possibility of closing out the series in Game 5.

Even if the Red Sox pitching stays lackluster,the Indians have already blown their Wad.After the Red Sox offense is done with Cleveland tonight,you will see that Boston could have used a Little League pitcher in there and still won.We do our best when we Have too!

Have faith...the Sox are only down 2-1...today is a new day and when the Sox win tonight the series will be tied at 2 with Beckett going in game 5 which means the Sox will have a great chance of going back to Boston up 3-2 with a chance to clinch at home with Schilling on the mound...it's never been a better time to be a Sox fan...it will be a great game tonight!

Yeah who wouldn't be worried Wakefield coming off an injury and pitching in a cold drizzle.The Red Sox only have one starter proven capable to pitch a winning game against Cleveland.A bullpen two deepOKI and Paplebon.Not much to look forward too.If my math is right we are looking at a 4-2 series if things stay the same.Bring up Buckholtz ,but no gotta pitch those big $$$$, just so the management gets to see what a bunch of Big money losers they have.

The Red Sox are an amateur version of the Yankees. They spend like the Yankees, just not as wise. They win like the Yankees, just not the big game.
Honestly - I hate both those teams. But Boston fans are really pretty annoying. Not to say you are, but most are. I say this - once Cleveland finishes you off - then most of your kind will be gone in hiding for a few months. I look forward to that. There are too many Red Sox bandwagon jumpers around here.

Today is a new day, but I'll tell ya what, the Indians are fighting and have a great chance today. It should be a high scoring game, so we'll see. Buckle your seatbelts it's going to be a Topsy Byrdie, Wakey Brakey Game.
OOH...Love the play on words.
