Well I was given this thing to do and it was on Bird's nest fungi..well I can't seem to find the importance of nor the uses of it or the life cycle...does anyone know any good sites to find these other than google, ask, and yahoo...because I just spent the last half an hour doing that...

These are saprophytic fungi and the interesting part is the method of dispersing spores. Here are a couple of websites with pictures:

As for the importance and uses, it is a decomposer with an interesting, unexpected way of dispersing spores. As for reproduction, these are basidiomycetes, subdivision gasteromycetes.
