5 -7 = -2 so x/3 = -2

I am not sure if i am reading it right, but here goes.
7 + x/3 = 5
x/3 = 5-7
x/3 = -2
x = -2 * 3
x = -6
To find the answer, you want to have the x/3 on the left side, and the rest on the right side. to do this, you keep the x/3 on the left side. To lose the 7, you subtract 7 on that side, and on the right side also. Up to now, you have x/3=-2. Now, to just have the x = ? , you multiply x/3 by 3 so you lose your 3 on the left side, and your left with x. Then, you do the same on the right side, you multiply by 3. And there's your answer!
