ask if it is just me, I am a reader, I have prob. read ten or twenty thousand books..........but this one, the kite runner, if you are from usa, please read, it is, in a word,brilliant.......and if yahoo boots me out for this question, you are idiots.

Haven't read it yet, but now I will. I teach college English (composition, literature, creative writing) and I can honestly say I would be happy to have an enthusiastic student of literature like you in ANY of my classes.

I'm glad you chose to share that a book had such an impact on you. It gives me hope....

I read the Kite Runner and maybe I'm just dense or unfeeling, but I swear I don't get all the hype. I mean, it's enjoyable enough and well-written, but can someone please explain why it seems to be considered THE end-all, be-all book of the last 20 years?
Seriously --- I want to know what I'm missing.

yes. i've never read the kite runner, and probably won't unless it's assigned to me. it's not my cup of tea.


the time traveler's wife moved me, it showed me how to appreciate the time that i have with my husband. on the beach by nevil schute moved me quite a bit, it was so sad and beautiful.

i have been moved by a book to. my friends thought i was crazy but when they read the book they knew what i meant. its a great book. by now ive read many books that move me. but i will always remember that one as my first.
