If so do you regret it later?
Have you forgiven others for doing the same?

Some days I am very sarcastic. Some days I am passive-aggressive. Other days I'm full-out aggressive! Other days, I try to be more restrained, but certain questions set me off.

There was one guy (who I believe has disappeared) from Yahoo! Answers. He was a raving Lib who was very demeaning and arrogant. His avatar was a photo of him with a cigar in his mouth. In my acerbic response, I asked, "What's the matter? Is that cigar in your mouth bigger than your ...?" (that was exactly how I worded it; and it could have referred to the cigar being bigger than his brain, but my response got yanked due to community guidelines. First and only time.

When I first started with Y Answers, I was a lot more serious. One respondent was saying ridiculous things, and I let him have it with both barrels. I ridiculed his answer, his logic, and even his (atrocious) spelling.

I later deduced this was only some young teenager, and I felt really, really bad. I sent him a note of apology, and said if he, at his age, was already debating politics, he had a good mind and should continue, ignoring big mouths like me.

Never.

I pride myself on being as non partisan as possible. Plus Y/A is usually a pleasant diversion, not the core of my self identity. At the end of the day, if I can help someone learn something, then great. My goal is to win converts to a reasonable middle ground, not to show people up.

At my age you learn you can't win every arguement, nor should you even try.

Many of the more irate or immature posters are just kids seeking attention or socially inept adults seeking recognition. Since I feel sorry for them, its hard to hold a grudge. My gloves come off against racists and hate mongers though.

Although, if I am tired, my answers are not as good as they ought to be. Hopefully, I don't seem too tired now!

This Yahoo board is a joke. I never take anything here seriously. I don't regret anything I've said and as far as forgiving other, the people on here I can forgive but I can't forgive the LIEberal Yahoo and their lame a s s non-human software. Well, then there's the trolls like Chi Guy and ShortBus 43 too.

not so much a bad day, as just seeing so much hateful crap that it gets under my skin. I know once I've posted one sarcastic answer at someone, when I see that one anti-whatever question too much, that I should call it quits. (And in many cases, that answer will get reported.) Once I'm reported, sure I regret it.

How exactly is it possible to tell if someone's having a bad day on Y!A, if they're constantly rude and insulting in their answers, unless they actually amend their question to say, "I'm having a bad day?"

One person I don't forgive for claiming to have a bad day is Red State Randy, as, such as Government Cheese constantly posting the same question about Jimmy Carter every day, Red State Randy posts the same exact anti-liberal question, with the same exact "points" in it, every now and then.

I don't forgive trolls.

I really try not to, but I notice that I am more sarcastic when I get on late at night, like if I can't sleep. That's when I tend to type out posts, but never submit them after I read them in the preview because I'm afraid of getting violations!

And I don't usually get too upset by what other people post.

Occasionally, but usually it's the ignorance here that makes me feel like taking it out on people. I just wish I could literally share my mind with people sometimes, but text can only do so much.

If I cross lines I'll apologize. I usually regret bad behavior on my part.

I have done it.

I have not regreted it because of who I have lashed out against.

If they ask for forgiveness then I will forgive them.

Edit: Whenever a question is asked directed towards liberals or conservatives, it is done so, to garner a reaction and to attack anothers views. I have lashed out and have called someone a name, but I don't regret it. If my views are going to be attacked and an insult thrown my way, I am going to fire right back.

Guilty. I can be pretty sarcastic but I've never regretted it. I've never been mean and I don't stoop to name calling. I don't need to forgive anyone for their posts on YA. They have the right to their opinions, no matter how ill-informed they may be.

Yeah, I lashed out at Ernest one day and apologized later. My bad, that was my alter ego, Al Cracka. I usually only get mad when people post offensive or stereotypical questions.

I have refused to ever take this forum that seriously.

I save all of my bile for the stalking trolls and Yahoo when they allow those users to abuse others.
