shed more tears putting down your beloved pet then over getting an abortion? I grew up with a dog, but she was just a dog, a mutt, a house pet. It was sad when the dog died at 13, but I'm not one of these PETA people or animal nuts and I'm not one of these anti-abotion nuts either, I'm in the middle. However, I have known many people through work and social interactions over the years who have point blank told me that they like dogs more than kids and value dogs more than babies. I think that is totally whacked thinking. I'm not in favor of animal cruelty or anything, but I certainly feel that human life should be held higher than that of pets.

I agree that human life should be held higher than animals. There is nothing worse then the feelings you have when someone close to you dies (lost me dad). However, I am also and animal lover...have a cat, dog and several lizards. I would never try to compare the lose of a pet to the lose of my dad, but I would be completely heart broken if anything happened to my cat or dog. They are a huge part of the family.

I can tell you that I like most animals I meet more than most people I meet.
I think you can be pro choice and be very involved in animal rescue and welfare.
If some people value their animals more than people, so what. It takes all kinds to make the world go 'round. If there were not people that thought that way, most species would be extinct by now through hunting and deforestation.

I'm pretty !@#$ed up right now sorry. I would cry for neither. But would rather have an idiot put down than a dog. Other wise if the person was not an idiot I would have the dog put down. Sorry I must seem very insensitive. I need a hug :(

I have 2 cats, they are my kids. They are just like kids. There are many times I like animals more than people because animals don't judge. They give unconditional love and companionship. I would say I hold an animal's life ranks up there pretty close. They are innocent and know no wrong.

I love my animals just as much as I love my family, I would take bullet for both of them! I see my animals as my kids. They abortion thing is way diff. then an animal thing. I think it's real pathetic why women have abortions they should be shot. No woman should have an abortion unless you were raped or something extreme like that, not having the means to take care of it, is not excuse because I guess you sure did have time to have sex!!!

I used to feel that way before I had a kid. Now, I would give my own life for my daughter. I would however pick my dogs over some human beings.

thats how i felt untill i had a baby of my own. other people's kids are just so annoying.
