I often wonder this! Think a lot of it is inherited.

Some are born into it
Some work hard and earn it
Some just get lucky and strike it rich
If you aren't the first, you shouldn't hold your breath for the last.. which leaves you with just the second option... and the world will do all it can to insure that doesn't happen.. so you'll have to work REAL hard.

Most of the case so richness are inherited.
They earned it either by hard working or by stealling others by generation by generation and keep it by their all means.

It has to do with their personality type- a willingness to do whatever needs to be done in order to suceed.... which is not necessarily a good personality to have.
