Meteoritics uses every available technology to further knowlege--it's a wonderful what-if study that is delivered from the farthest reaches of space at a modest price. We have samples of the moon and Mars that didn't cost billions to get. The studies and tracking down known falls takes time, but the discoveries made are priceless.
