To convert any thing, multiply the quantity with 1's such that the resulting measurement unit is what you want. In your case, 12 in / 1ft = 1. Similarly, 2.54cm / 1 in = 1, and 1m / 100cm = 1

So, 45000 ft^3 = 45000 ft^3 * ((12 in / 1 ft) * (2.54 cm / 1 in) * (1m / 100 cm))^3 = 45000 * (12*2.54/100 m)^3 = 1,274.26m^3

45000 cubic feet are still an awful lot of cubic meters. Roughly 1 cubic meter = 30 cubic feet, so you should expect 1500 cubic meters. Looks like some "poltergeist" stuck a negative sign in the exponent.
