My husband's boss invited us to go on his boat..what kind of clothing should I wear?

It has been a lil bit cool these days. What kind of shoes should I wear????

It will be casual....

capri pants , shirt , with a jacket to put over the top

flat non slip shoes , and maybe have a bag of mix and match type clothes that can dress up your look if they go to a bar at all later.
swimmers in the bag also ?

Do not wear anything controversial or vaguely sexual, including a strapless gown. To support your husband's career, dress as you would dress if he were to get a promotion and you were to be present as his wife at any event where he might be representing the company. Consider for example what you might have seen his boss's wife or the VP's wife wearing at such events. Sorry Charlie, If you know anything about boats Tennis shoes are in order. If you plan on stopping go ahead and take your heels or sandals.
Boats are a high maintains item and deeply embedded scars are not welcome in the wood. So I f you plan to take your dogs or something always ask so the owner can respond, If it is a yacht they may want to put down some carpet or a blanket where the dog will stay. Of course the capris will be stylish and I would say a tee plus a button down shirt. As far as color goes match your hair and skin. In the event of a picnic ask what you can bring. if they say nothing bring at least one bottle of campaign or wine.

I would wear a cute tennis shoe with a short sock. Some cute capri pants a belt and a tucked-in shirt. Then if they are casual you fit in but if they are dressed up a little you can swing that way too.

honestly you will need to wear some sort of sneaker or closed toe shoe. Like a sperry topsider. boats can be very slippery and you need traction so you don't fall off.

as far as clothes go. dress in layers. I usually wear chino/khaki pants or even jeans, t-shirt, and then layers with fleece and a rain coat in case you get wet.

you should wear something that makes it very clear you are offering yourself, on your husbands behalf, to your husband's boss. i'm sure your husband knows that this is the protocol, and in all liklihood, his boss will decline. but its well understood that a person interested being a big shot has to have a what's my mine is yours attitude with the boss (not some rinky dink manager mind you, but the big boss) particularly when it comes to access to his wife's body.
