I was going to suggest a "breaker bar" but you mentioned you tried an "extender" and that may be the same. This should be on the handle of the wrench not on the depth of the wrench, which an extender bar suggest to me. A socket extention will actually lessen the torque, where you can add as much torque as needed depending on the size (length) with a breaker bar.

I would use a steel pipe, just wide enough to fit the handle of the socket wrench, and at least 18" long. I have yet to meet a bolt I could not get off if I could get a good breaker bar on it. It can be on so tight that it breaks off, but it always comes off.

One other thing to check is the direction of the threads on the bolts. Although slim, it is possible the threads are reversed or you are trying to turn it the wrong way. Try reversing the direction you are currently turning it.

One other thing to try is to heat it up. If you have a high power (hot) hair dryer, blast the nut for several minutes before trying to undo. If you have a propane torch, even better. It should only take a few passes of the torch to heat it enough to turn. Be careful not to burn yourself (been there done that.)

At a compressor possibly they used cement ( I mean that special one for fixing screws). Then you must make the bolt warm. Very good is taking an elctrode and weld it a little on the head of the bolt. But do not melt the head! Wait 2 minutes so that the warmth is goin from the bolt to the device. Then cool the bolt (only!!!) with oil or water.
The screw will be loose. This works also, when the parts are rusty. You will need new bolts. No guarantee!!!

ps: It is dangerous to lengthen the arm of the wrench. You can tore off the head of the bolt and it is much more difficult to get off a bolt with no head.

Get a can of "liquid wrench" at the hardware store and let it soak for about twenty minutes, it will loosen where wd-40 won't..

Try some PB Penetrating Catalyst (also called PB Blaster).
