The mother and sons pack up and return to America. Strangest thing...those boys held their father up as a saint and scorned their mother who was forced into prostituting herself just to make a living for them because their irresponsible, drunken sot of a father left them.

Ah well... McCourt and his brother were both drunken slobs too in their adult years.
