right after 9/11 when Americans were united against terrorism and evil acts aginst our citizens and military(USS Cole). It seems now there is more hate between Republicans and Democrats than between Blacks and Whites. What is it going to take to actually UNITE and get along with each other? Maybe an Alien Invasion (I'm talking outer space, not illegal). Despite our differing views can't we just get along, not make personal attacks against each other, respect each others opinions, and start hating the ENEMY?? Your thoughts please...

I remember the" good old days" after the attack on Pearl Harbor when ALL Americans united, even the politicians. Now our country is split by politicians fighting for their own party or views an power and the h#ll with whats good for America
I believe we need not only a new president but also new members in congress who are more in touch with the desires of the citizens of our great country.

Absolutely do.Of course i was only a nipper at the time. A 12-13 year old nipper that is. My friends and me were obsessed. The best thing about the 80's for me. "strange how Vivian should care for a begonia"

The good old days ended on 9-1-1. That's when Fear, through the War-On-Terror began. Our enemy is the utter apathy and ignorance of our citizens to take control of their pursuit of happiness.

A third party presidential win?
That seems to be the only thing that'll unite Democrats and Republicans.

Personally,I would like to see no parties at all. We should be basing our votes on the person's merits anyway and not their party affiliation. Without the "agenda's" of the individual parties,we might just all agree on a few things.

I am fine with most Republicans...just have problems with people who post bigoted questions pretending that they know what my beliefs are and people who look down their nose at me because I do not beleive what they believe. Jeff, that sounds good, but would probably result in neither side liking the third party candidate.
