It is a combination of the media & the young stars getting so much money so fast & being able to do whatever they want. There is so much more papparazzi today then there was 20 years ago. Media outlets will pay big bucks for those scandalous photos, so the papparazzi are very aggressive in getting those photos. In the meantime, the young stars have so much money, that it is a party world for them & every thing is laid out at their feet. I believe it is a very toxic combination.

I think it's pretty much the same. I'm only a few years older (I'm 25) so I can't remember much more than you might. We still talk about a lot of them today. There was the Brat Pack with Cory Feldman, Cory Haim, and a bunch of other young celebs that were notorious for partying HARD. Drew Barrymore admitted to being an alcoholic by age 13 I believe. Curt Cobain died of a drug overdose. Robert Downey Jr has been in and out of rehab nearly my entire life. That's just the people I could think of quickly... do some research and you will find more. These things just fade from our memory as will a lot of what's happening today.

Celebrities have always gotten into trouble. The thing that has changed is the amount of coverage they get today. The papparazzi wasnt as popular 20 years ago-so a lot stayed out of the press. The thing that has changed is the behavior of our athletes. They used to be practically untouchable. It may have something to do with the amount of money they make now. It's a shame, because our youth idolizes pro athletes and right now-they arent being very good role models.

It's not just the celebrities. There just isn't the respect that we grew up with. It's a matter of instant wealth, and lack of common sense, that's causing the majority to end up in trouble.

Celebrities and athletes have a lot of money to enable them to enjoy the lifestyle of the powerful and privileged. As such, they find themselves involved in too much trouble.

because people like u are always trying to get them in trouble, every little thing they do is "wrong". if lindsay lohan was black her career would be done, but of course shes still getting called for acting jobs and what not when she's still in jail

I think it is the media. Maybe just maybe it's the government throwing that stuff in your face so they can do stuff behind it! (just a thought)
