I don't really listen to a lot of new stuff cause it's so much puff and fluff. I really liked "Rage Against the Machine" in the 90's (still do), but I haven't seen anything to replace them since they broke up.
What gets your blood pumping about things that need to change?
(I posted this earlier today but didn’t get much response.)

Immortal Technique. Get all his stuff.

EDITED EDITION: I listen mostly to Rap, so my list will be political/rap artists. I won't say rap is the greatest, but some of these people are fantastic:

Immortal Technique (once again get all of his stuff)
Pharoah Monch (not always political, always good).
Mr. Lif
billy woods/the Reavers (if you like smart lyrics, this is the guy)
Mos Def/Talib Kweli/Blackstar (once again, not always political but always good).
Last Emperor (stuff is hard to find but he did a song with Zach of Rage and KRS-1 about the CIA, so good stuff).
Sage Francis (a little campy and too much of a poet, but good stuff).
Michael Franti (good, but not exactly blood pumping)
Saul Williams (samples Rage a lot and makes it really cool- get Omni American on iTunes for good stuff).

In other genres:
Billy Bragg is ok
Yikes McGee is alright
System of a Down has put some decent songs together
Bad Religion (still doing it)

Hope that helps.

Check out Nine Inch Nails' "The Hand that Feeds," or "Capital G." There's a rap song called "Chicago Politicin'" that's pretty good...Serj Tankian from System of a Down has a new album coming out called "Elect the Dead" And Bruce Springsteen's new album "Magic" is supposed to be pretty political as well. If none of those work for ya, you can always fall back on System of a Down or Rage Against the Machine. Enjoy!
