I am a non-smoker. I say No to banning tobacco and yes to banning all the additives that are put into a cigarette and cigar.

Tobacco has many uses other than just smoking for the pleasure of it.. It is great on insect stings. It is great to mix snuff with dish washing liquid and water to make a good insecticide for your plants.

It is also used for neurologic and psychiatric conditions. It has been known to help reduce the tics that a person with Turrets Syndrome has to endure.

I could go on but won't for the sake of space.

Florida has a ban on smoking in any public establishment. Bars are exempt if there is only a small percentage of food served. In other words, it really has to be an alcoholic drinking establishment before smoking can be allowed.

One again, I don't think banning the use tobacco would be a great idea. I do think Florida has a good system though.

As much as you hate smoker, smokers hate you, everytime you tell a smoker what just said, they wil tell exactly the samething
I'm sick of non smokers, but i agree, maybe no to that magnitud, but for sure they should ban from smoking inside any public places, ban from smoking inside their own house, when there is other people living with him, like family and kids, if they want to shorten their lives go ahead, but leave the rest of us out of it

First let me say I do not smoke and can not stand to be around people who do smoke. But that being said, I do not think anybody has the right to ban smoking. IMO I think that a big problem in our world today is because people/countries try to impose their "way" onto others. If we mind our own business our world would be much better off.

Yes, and let's get rid of those perfume companies, and the people who make chocolate that makes us fat, and how about those nasty potato chips.. yea they must go too. Our social security money is vested in tobacco stocks, so let's stop the smokers, they will live longer and use more SS money. Would you give up your ss benefit to stop smoking? Why not let people smoke all they want and leave more ss benefits for the others?

There are many of us that wish tobacco products never came along at all. There has been a problem created though...the tobacco industry, well not the industry, the people who buy the products, pay allot of tax dollars to smoke or what ever.

In the good old days it wasn't even enough to buy iron lungs for smokers. Now there are enough tax dollars generated that the governments, mostly state, are dependent on the cash. Quite a fix....

That's a good question but we need to get the situations straightened out quick! I say implement the smoke ban and legalize marijuana!! Not just because something is legal, it means you have to do it in public! I think smokers need to use discretion when publicly displaying their habits. I personally enjoy smoking (blunts-although it's been a while-trying to quit).!! :)

That would be an infringement upon peoples' freedoms, and it would probably work about as well as the prohibition did. Let smokers smoke, shorten their lives, pay higher insurance premiums etc.

(What gets me is when they throw the cigarette butts out the window. A couple weeks ago I had one hit my half open car window! Use your friggin ash trays, people!)

the USA Government tried banning Alcoholic Beverages in the mid - 1920 period of time. they called it prohibition and all it did was make the bootleggers rich and people made their own. it didn't work with alcohol so seriously doubt if it would work with the tobacco industry. besides there are many people who purchase tobacco who do not smoke or use any tobacco product to injure their health.

Quit 8 years ago. But you can't do that. Ok then ban all booze aswell. More people get killed by booze than by tabacco. Where do freedom come into the picture. Do you want to be a Hitler the 2nd.

I am not a smoker, but I think we should have learned something from Prohibition, enough to tell us (at least in America) that banning smoking will not work. There has to be some other solution, we just can't see it yet.
