My baby is 11 months and I have only had one period. That was when my baby was 9 months old. I breast feed till my baby was 6 months. My friend told me that she had a very hard time ovulating after the birth of her child and is having a very hard time getting pregnant. I am worried that I might have the same thing. Yes, I should go to the Dr. but I want to do reserch before I go in. Any help would be wonderful!

It's different with all women. My mom had 6 children, and never started her period til she was completely done breastfeeding us (which was about 2 years). For me it was completely different. I FULLY breastfed both my children til they were 1 1/2 years old. My first daughter was 3 months old when I started my period, and my second daughter was only 7 weeks old when I started. Your hormones could be off since having your child, or stress could be throwing if off. Whatever the reasoning, definately go see your doctor. You won't be able to relax until you know for sure what is going on.

I would suggest waiting another three months and see what your body is doing then. It took an average of nine months for me to get my period after having a baby.
