white !!! thats the basic plot of the book ! a white man defending a black man and everyone going against the white man and calling him a traitor n stuff !!!

White, and not just because they were portrayed that way in the movie. It's because a key point is the fact that an honorable white man (Atticus Finch) was willing to defend a black man at trial.

Besides...the girl is actually Harper Lee and the boy (her brother) is Truman Capote. As a matter of fact there was always the hint that Capote ghost wrote the book with Lee and just let her take the credit for it.
