I speak fluent spanish and english. I want to permanently live in Cuba and was told there is an agency in Mar Del Plata that refers me to a job and living quarters in Cuba. Is this true? Please anyone that knows about this , kindly let me know. I will be traveling to Mar Del Plata, Buenos Aires next week and from there would like to continue on to Cuba.

I think you need to ask whoever told you about this agency.

But it sounds unlikely. What is your profession ? It is not easy to come and live in Cuba, or to get a work permit. And I haven't come across lots of Argentinians here.

Just got back from Cuba. Lovely country. But to work there, i think you'll be up against a brick wall. There are some expats working and living there. i know that cause their cars have an orange number plate and I saw dozens of them each day. But from their cars i could tell that they are professionals and are in good companies.
We were thinking about opening up a resturant with a Cuban guy we met. But I jjust found out it's impossible to have a legal contract. what are you planning on doing there??

There are people outside of Cuba who are working there...but rare. I'm sure it depends on your profession, but I do believe there could be a possiblity. But it would be good to check out your agency and make sure everything is above board. If you haven't already done so, perhaps you can double check with the Cuban consolate/embassy where you are to make sure of this...as well as contacting Cuba directly and looking at the government sites as to what is suggested.

Allen has it almost spot on, the only element that i might upload is which you could use a mastercard as long via fact the 1st 4 digits characterize that that's a Canadian economic enterprise. humorous element is that my mastercard is drawn on an American economic enterprise (Citi economic enterprise) although that's thru its Canadian subsidiary and there have been no issues. What we do is convey a pair of hundred funds CDN for advice and sundries and if we circulate on an expedition we pay for it with the cardboard. to date no issues. A be attentive to warning approximately Cuban customs it relatively is somewhat intimidating (a minimum of it became into for us in Varadero) basically supply them your documents and that they provide you with returned what they do no longer desire. you will could desire to pay the departure tax on the airport in the previous you leave Cuba which could be approximately 25 CUC and ultimately convey a Timmies mug to maintain your beverages cool on the hotel. rejoice and risk-free abode.
