9/11? But, how often does the United States get attacked? The last time the U.S. was attacked on American soil was in the 1940's at pearl Harbor.

Actually, it was '93, at the WTC - making Clinton a good president by the same criterion - the remaining terrorist attacks durring his presidency were all overseas, too.

I'm thinking Al Qaeda just likes to schedule attacks for early in a new president's term, perhaps on the assumption that the nation's security aparatus will be more vulnerable during the transition, or, maybe just to send a 'message' to the new leader. Thus, there will almost certainly be another Al Qaeda attack on US soil in 2009.

Well, he's no Ronald Reagan, ;) so they'd really be arguing second-best. Then, there's Washington and Lincoln (both ranking above Reagan, I should think), so Bush is prettymuch out of the top 3. I think the best you could do is argue he's in the top 5 with Teddy Roosevelt. Set asside partizan prejudices, and you'd be lucky to squeeze him into the top 10.

9/11 WAS the most Americans killed on American soil since pearl harbor. Reason GWB supporters say that is because it's their last straw. The guy is an absolute failure in everything he has done. He bankrupted America is currently losing two wars ,Katrina and the biggest terrorist attack happened on his watch.
They need their straws but they are fooling no one. GWB will be remembered as the worst American president in History

I agree. There were eight years between the attacks on the WTC even with the "ineffective" Clinton at the helm.

I like how Alpha Male includes all the overseas attacks in Clinton's list but doesn't mention the daily attacks on U.S. troops in Iraq.

Mr. Bush is a good man and has done good things as President.
The US has been attacked, numerous times, since the hostages were taken in the 1970's, by muslim crazies in Iran.

The bombing of Marines in Lebanon in 1981, the first bombing inside the World Trade Center. Cobar Towers in Saudi Arabia. The Navy ship in the Yemen port. The embasies in Eastern Africa.

To name but a FEW

Terror on Clinton's watch;

-- The 1993 World Trade Center bombing that killed 6 and injured 1,000
-- The 1993 Mogadishu firefight that killed 18 U.S. soldiers
-- The 1995 Saudi Arabia car bomb that killed 5 U.S. military personnel
-- The 1996 Khobal Towers bombing that killed 19 U.S. soldiers, wounding 515
-- The 1998 bombings of two U.S. embassies in Africa that killed 231 citizens, 12 Americans and injured 5,000
-- The 2000 USS Cole attack in Yemen that killed 17 U.S. sailors, wounding 39

Every time, Clinton's response was weak and ineffective.

President Bush.

September 11th, 2001 WTC/Pentagon attacks that killed 3000+ Americans.

Get it yet?

Alpha cracks me up...notice how he fails to mention that EVERY person involved with the 93 WTC bombing was caught and convicted by Clinton....funny how the whackedout Cons fail to mention any of that.....they'd rather look like the idiots they are and claim Clinton did nothing.

Yeah, does the term "wag the dog" ring a bell Alpha? Care to explain what the Cons meant by that phrase? Wasn't it actually a slam at Bill for actually going after OBL? Hmmm...why yes it was. Morons.

They tend to forget about the anthrax mail and the Washington D.C. snipers. Both are examples of terrorism, domestic terrorism. I was in D.C when the shootings were occurring and it was indeed terrifying.
