I dont like cats because I'm allergic to them but also they are the type of pet that you can't dominate. We strong in charge types have problems with animals that do not respond to our commands and need for control. Gosh, that makes me sound crazy and socially inept so perhaps we cat haters have similar traits to the cat lovers.

I think the reason why cat lovers and cat haters butt heads is because like cats, cat lovers are usually laid back and sort of unique, while cat haters, which are usually dog lovers, are more active and level headed. It is usually just their personality. I personally love both animals, but I have only owned cats.

I'm a cat fanatic I love cats. I don't like to generalize but I suspect that the very predatory independent nature of cats is slightly disturbing to cat haters though I have trouble imagining not liking cats.
I love them and think if I have to come back as an animal I'll come back as a Burmese my favorite breed.

It is highly unlikely that there are many physiological differences between cat lovers and cat haters (perhaps more haters have cat allergies).
There may, however, be considerable psychological differences.

Sorry abut your affliction.
You've missed out on so much.
There is one difference between cat lovers and cat haters that is very evident--
anyone who loves a cat as a life-partner, not a commander, substitute forchildren, etc. is self-assertive in the real world...
Cats have their own agenda; they are curious, funny, loving, aloof, exasperating--but unlike pack-functioning dogs who require a leader and commands, they are always doing their own thing.
So cat haters, without a physiological cause such as yours, are those who lack self-esteem; who are collectivized--being dictator or slave mentalities lacking in self respect. In words of on syllable, they want to boss or be bossed .
Several proofs of this thesis are evident. Many bookstore owners keep cats; clearly those in this profession respect the individual mind, theirs as a reader and evaluator of books and others' as their customers.
The nastiest would-be tyrants 85% of the time have large dogs, used to frighten others.
Legislators pass laws requiring dog owners to leash or curb their pets; but whatever cats do, laws ignore it as "it's what they do".
But the person who loves both creatures equally, for what they are, both takes the responsibility for a dog's behaviors and happiness and then accepts the different needs amd requirements of allowing a cat to associate with him as a friend.
Too bad you're missing out on so much.

What a good question !
I hope I have a good answer.
As I see it, dog lovers have a harder time relating to cats, trying to treat them like dogs. Which of course doesn't work on cats.
But dogs have no problem if they are treated like cats, or anything else.
They are totally different, but it is easier to go from cat to dog than from dog to cat.

For me it was a matter of learned behavior. My dad hated cats and that has been hard for me to shake for one. I have done my best to love my cat and hopefully I have done that.
