When can I feel my baby kick for the first time? And when can I find out what it is?

I'm only 13 weeks, I know i've got a while.. but I'm just curious to know what is the earliest you can feel movement, and whats the earliest they can find out what your baby is on an ultrasound...

I felt my baby move at 15 weeks which is very rare for your first time pregnancy, but I am also on the very small side, and I guess the smaller you are the sooner you will feel it. I think by week 22 is when you should have felt it. I believe they can find out gender as soon as 16 weeks although I believe the typical time that they try to find out is 18-24 weeks! I find out in about a week and a half YAY!

Feeling your baby move will be the most incredible thing ever....its like those butterflies before you very first kiss, except they don't stop....

Some women find out the gender as early as 12 weeks, but it is most reliable around 20 weeks or later. Some women begin feeling the baby move around 16 weeks, but this too can take place later in pregnancy. Typically it's harder to detect the movement in first time moms, but everyone is different.

You might start feeling some fluttering around 14-15 wks although most don't. It feels a little like a feather brushing the inside of your skin. The first real kicks won't come until after 16wks but once again it's not likely to happen until after 20, to me they feel like popcorn popping in me. You can find out the sex any time after 14wks however closer to 20 is more accurate. At 14wks I would take any results as a maybe.

I felt mine at about 18/19 weeks. But it was very confusing ( I couldn't differentiate between gas or baby ) at first as this is my first pregnancy. It became clearer as I reached weeks 20 and so on. I am 27 weeks now, movements are very clear and sometimes strong but not all the time.

My ultra sound technician could tell my baby's gender at 12 weeks.
At 20 weeks my Dr confirmed it.

I can feel the baby now at 16 weeks, and have for about a week, but it's my 2nd pregnancy so I knew what I was feeling. With my daughter I didn't really feel anything until 17 weeks. They can tell you what you are having at about 16 weeks, but they usually like to wait until 18-20 weeks.

I found out the sex at 16 weeks. Also, I started feeling baby move around the same time. It really depends on the mom and the baby. My doctor said that real thin women tend to feel baby move earlier. It depends and as soon as your baby starts moving, pregnancy gets better!

i started to feel my baby move from the 18th week. n just yesterday (20 week ultrasound) we came to know that v r having a baby girl!! so basically on ur 20th week ultrasound u can come to know the sex of ur child. good luck !!

Well first off congrats on the baby!

I started feeling little flutters at 14wks, didn't know what it was then.
Now at 17wks and 5 days, i feel the occasional lil bumps, which my doc says are kicks!
Its a little miracle, and the first time i realized... i had tears in my eyes!

You probably won't find out the sex till about 20 weeks... sometimes they can tell you sooner but they will tell you it isn't 100%, you don't start to feel the baby move till about your 5 or almost 6th month... GOOD LUCK

for me it was round 18weeks you may feel you baby before this point or a little later. you can find out the sex from 16-20weeks. best of luck :)
