If someone is multicultural aren't they suppose to accept customs from different ethnic and cultural groups? So, a multi-cultural feminist who cannot support the Muslim culture is guilty of hypocrisy, right?

I'm multi-cultural which is why I have a great understanding of people having different needs and choosing different lifestyles. I'm accepting of any decision any woman will make to live her life accordingly. Whether she wants to be in a polygamous relationship or celibate--whether she wants to be a housewife with 5 children or career women with no kids or family. Western values should not be imposed on others. My only concern is for her to have the opportunity and support to choose freely. Where is the hypocrisy in that?

EDIT: There are Muslim women who live a traditional life without being oppressed or taken advantage of. Traditionalism doesn't automatically equal oppression.

There is an inherent but oft-ignored contradiction in the two philophies, yes. The resolution is to be feminist within the context of your own culture, only. That is, an American multiculturalist feminist would definine feminism as reforming American (or Western) culture to provide full rights and oportunities to women, but would tollerate any degree of patriarchy in other cultures.

Since multiculturalism often seems to engender contempt for one's own culture, such a resolution is not generally difficult to achieve.

a multicultural feminist would acknowledge and applaud pro-feminist thinkers and thinking within islam (benazir bhutto for example, or carla garapedian) as she would praise similar movements in western thinking.

at the same time she would censure anti-feminist thinking and rhetoric regardless of which culture spawned it.

well done for spelling 'hypocrisy' correctly. now why not look up what the word means before you use it in your next question?

We are all people and all of us are Hypocrites in some way, I usually try not to label people and judge them, even though they intentionally put themselves and their views out for everyone to see and make judgments. Except for Britney Spears she is nuttier than Jimmy Carters poop.

No, if Muslim culture goes against equality, she must reject it.
