i live in new jersey and am going through a civil suit and i live with my parents, but i am over 18...a public defender won't represent me because the gross annual income of my parents is 30,000-40,000 a year....how does this make any sense that it relies on what my parents make, i do not work and my parents don't support me

public defenders are used solely in criminal cases. You say you are going through a civil suit, so they are not available to you. If you do not work and your parents "don't support" you, how do you support yourself?? You live with your parents, so they are at least providing room, utilities, etc. unless you pay rent to them. This is 'support.'

" Message: or you could mind your own business if you don't have any real input. for you information, i'm the defendent....now stfu"

I got your message, loser! Since you decided to talk your trash I'll say it again. If you have money to pay the bills you have money to pay a lawyer. What really makes sense is that you are trying to get out of paying for it. I would also advise you against telling someone who knows the system to stfu. You may have actually gotten something worthwhile if you hadn't posted just to try and show people what a loser you are!!!
