You got to the Dept of Vital Statistics in the State where your son was born. You can get a copy, but, they aren't free. You MIGHT get one at the hospital, but, I'm not holding my breath

You don't get a copy at the hospital. Call the county office where your child is born, you need to speak to someone in the office of Vital Records. They provide the document. Good luck.

You can't get a birth certificate from the hospital anymore. You have to go to your county courthouse and pay about $12 for one now. My little girl is 3 and we still can't afford to get hers'..

you have to contact the department of vital records via mail send them a notarized copy of your dl,a copy of your and the baby ssn card and a money order for the amount of the certificate they never issue one at the hospital per privacy issues only proof of birth certificates that your baby was born at that particular hospital and if this info does not help contact your local social services and ask them

I believe the only place you can get them, is the Department of Health in the county that your son was born in.
