People getting married for Love is the reason there are so many divorces today. Love is short sighted, short lived, easily replaced, and far too often simply a "nice" word for lust. Arranged marriages that take the long run into consideration must be better.

If marriage is about commitment no matter what, (i.e. until death do us part) then arranged marriages have a better chance.
Love is a choice, being "in love" is an emotion. Emotions come and go, but a choice is commitment. The nature of an arranged marriage is that they've made that commitment at the beginning when they're sane, not while they are high on love. (and if you don't believe being in love is something like being high, and just as effective in messing with your judgement,.. then you may have never been in love.)

Well, in today's world more than 1/2 of love marriages end up in divorce with the ones who stay married miserable. So I am going to go with arranged. They last longer and it's better for the children.

Honestly I think they may be equal..You have to work for a good marriage and either could fail...I would lean towards love...but I have never been in an arranged marriage so it is hard to say!

Love, that's why Americans gave up arranged marriages long ago.

Arranged marriages could be easier on the individual, because there's no question if you'll be alone or not.

But I think love, real love, not infatuation, would be the best foundation for a good relationship.

Arranged Marriages tend to not work, because the spouse can be abusive, financial greed, lust, etc. It's best to marry out of love, that way you're not likely to cheat.

i saw this program once about arranged marriages and the parents of this young lady arranged her marriage. they have been making her decisions all her life and they would not trust their daughter ust to any person.. they picked someone who can support her emotionally, and finacially. you can learn to love anyone given enough time.
