let me just ask you a two part question.

And I'm going to try to do it carefully, because I don't want to offend the sensitive-sensibilities. Right from the start on this one, I'm not going to give people so much the benefit of the doubt on this one. It's a provocative question, that comes to me with an angry kind of tone to it. So that's reason enough, right from the start, to see if I can sort of pillow-it gently for people. I suppose I aim to provoke response, with the feeeling of the question, but, actually, I don't really want to provoke offended-feelings response. Thats not the kind of answering I'm interesed in.

If you don't like the question or feel too much like "I don't get it" with this one there's no point answering. I need you to just move on to some other question please. Thankyou.

Two part:

1. Has America ever "lost" a war? (Or anything?)

2. Are you (me and you=America) re- ?? [

2. Are you (me and you=America) re- ?? [

now there I'm going to try to be gentle and just say maybe-not-so-smart-as-we-like-to-think] ??

I know it's messy,

-
- but I'm really tring to not be - - ..well not to step on sensitive or trivially-excitable toes here.

And I don't mean to merely evoke the menutia of historical quirks n' factiods in my question. I fully intend to call on your view of our general American MINDSET.

I could rephrase I guess like:
1. America always "wins"?
2. Do we have some kind of desperate-gambler's approach to Warfare? The
weirder the gamble, the more risky the challenge, the braver we want to be,
more want to throw our best American lives into the Hazard?
This daring-impulse what makes us American? Gumption? Go for the biggest
risk, get the biggest result, sink or swim, everything.. even in Warfare,
always?

We have to be upstarts in everything. (Do we?) It's "essence" to the-

American-Dream. Even in warfa

American-Dream. Even in warfare. (Right?) We have to be the country to

invent the next i-pod, we also have to be the country to invent the new

reasons to keep throwing young lives into war?

Crap, sorry the last part is choppy in the line-by line. Started fixing it, just going to leave it as-is now though.
Hope it wasn't too hard to read.
Thanx.

Wow, that wash the dishes answer is really weird, but honestly,
strangely enough,
I like it. (Don't ask me why I like it, it's just fun somehow.)

Thanx.

The "yes to both" answer was very gracious. And yes, honestly, thankyou for trying to leave out the potential-offensive on this one. The truth is I'm seeing all this Americans-making-war stuff today, and it's making me angry. Like "Are we {not so bright} ?"

We're inventive, immature.

We cannot handle "not" "winning" in any kind of healthy way in our whole history. And it's gettng worse.

I think I get it but I'm not altogether sure if my lengthy answer will not be offensive in some way to you which ,heaven forbid, I certainly would not intend to have happen. But, at risk of being reported, deported or whatever Y/A does, here goes. Yes, to both. I do hope I've been helpful.

Sometimes the vietnam war is washed the dishes under the road. If we all can't get along then we might as well fire our employees and retire to Finland. I don't know why the dragonflies try to eat cake. Their parents, the orange grove, should not tell me what to do. I mean, what does a beautician know?
America is and always will be a place to buy shoes in the desert. A speaker can be limited by how an ashtray acts.
My answer is this: define yourself by the nationality of your hairspray.
Otherwise, a rival will accomidate your swimming pool in the closet.
The only solution is to provide all of us with carpet and saxaphones.

I had trouble making sense of this whole thing. As to your first question I would say the British spanked us pretty hard during the War of 1812. I would probably chalk that up as a loss even though we didn't lose much.........
