The diner you see on the outside shots really does exist. It is really calledTom's Restaurant, and is at 2880 Broadway in Upper Manhattan. It was also the subject ofSuzanne Vega's late 1980's song "Tom's Diner."

Yes, it exists. On the show they just leave out the name of the place. I think it's called,"Toms restaurant", or something
