I'd like to have a good general monologue to have under my belt. something that has a lot of emotion written in to allow me to show good expression. I'm around 20 years old, male and white (just so there's nothing you suggest that i couldn't logically do) What are some of your favorites?

If I was a guy, I would have loved to perform any one of Macbeths Monologues...I like the part where is says,
"Is this a dagger which I see before me, the handle towards my hand? Come let me clutch thee! I have thee not yet I see thee still...That summons thee to heaven or to hell."

It's a very beautiful peice, where you can act out an insanity somewhat.
I really love Shakespeares work,
You could try Hamlet's "To be or not to be"
Or even his "O, what a rogue and peasant slave am I!"

Out of all I absolutely adore the emotion in "O, what a rogue and peasant slave am I!"

Rock your socks off dude.

Your question shows a lack of training as an actor. Why are you not reading every play you can find? You are wrong about the nothing you suggest etc, you would be a terrible King Lear, for example. You know nothing about acting. If you would like to know about acting and how to be an actor, read my profile and write me at my aol address.

Try this page: http://www.actingcareerstartup.com/free_duet_acting_scripts.html
You will see some sites on the list that have dramatic monologues as well.

Good luck!

The only thing I can think of off hand is the Jerry McGuire " I miss my wife" speech.
