You get on here to get some input from other people that may be experiencing the same things or have experienced the same things in the past, and people say "you should ask your doctor"! We all know we should ask our doctor about these things! We are just trying to get a little piece of mind before we get to see them.

Honestly, I have told people to call their doc, but that is after I tell them about an experience I have had or know of. If I don't know about what they are talking about, I don't answer, I'm not just going to say..."go to the doctor", you know?

I know!

I think that getting advice from others who have BTDT, at times, can be even better than advice from a doctor. I have been pregnant 11 times (4 miscarriages) and I have been through soooo much, complications, inductions, etc.... I have been there done that and I doubt most doctors can say that. They give you text book answers.

Sometimes, advice from someone who has been there is much more valueble than an answer that that I can look up online.

Every person is so different and sometimes you can't relate to every person such ultimately they should ask their doctor. Some people come here with questions that are so strange and obviously no one relates because there aren't any answers for them. I just worry about the people who are afraid to call their doctors. I love my doctor. I would ask her first if I was really concerned about something, not a bunch of people who may or may not know what is right.

I hear you there! If someone else has been through it they can usually tell you more about it so you know if you should call your doctor or not. Otherwise my poor doctor would have recieved a call from me about every day because I wondered about every little change if it were serious or not. Asking here is certiantly less embarassing when you may not even need to consult with a doctor.

I think that the main reason why people do this is because everyone is so different and each pregnancy is different. No one wants to give out false information. Maybe just describing their situation and then saying "go to the doctor" would suffice. I understand what you are saying though.

i tell people that when it sounds like something serious.

have you ever read some of these questions? im sorry but if you come on here asking about such things as bleeding or cramping, a bunch of strangers is not the people to be asking.

I'm with you on that!

I think that some people turn to Yahoo Answers INSTEAD OF going to the doctor......

I understand what you mean...but I think many answerers just want to drive home the urgency of the issue, and not give any info. the asker may think is accurate, possibly causing them more harm...but I do know what you mean...sometimes they answer very rudely, which is not what this forum is about.

Sometimes the best thing is to ask ur Dr. I mean what does it do somebody if they think they are having a miscarriage and we tell them no you symptoms are very normal and their not? I mean sometimes the best thing is to give your Dr. a quick call and ask somebody who really knows.
