There has been an advice given by our Master.
(1)If somebody is going out for some work, and if you also have to do the same work, never ask that person to do your work also.
(2) If you are going out to do/attend some work, then ask your neighborer or people around you, if they have any work there and if you can help them also, simultaneously working fore you.
These are certain fundamental ethics and principles required for spiritual way of life.
If we go by them, we are friends to every one and liked by all and never cause inconvenience to others, and can be of help to others.
Dear friend!, a good reference you have brought out as an eye opener.

Definitely. Unfortunately, some people are not that considerate. I've seen them just announce to the room they're going to XYZ for lunch & not ask anyone or just ask one or two people in a room of 3 or 4.

I guess so, I would try to be polite. But remember, we shouldn't do something nice for someone because they might return the favor, we do it because we are nice people and it makes us feel good to help someone.
