Why is loaylty such a bad word, especially among the Left. The United States of America voted for President Bush, he has sacrificed the last 8 years of his life and guided us into two just wars. The rest of the world hate us and him.

Don't we owe him a little loyality for his sacrifice?

He has my loyalty, 100%. The libs will tell you he got us into war. Fact: this war was a bipartisan effort.
they will tell you how he got this country in bad shape. This country was going into a recession as Prsident Bush took office.
They scream about the deficit that is lower than it has been in 5 years despite the war in Iraq, Katrina, and 9/11
He cut taxes, increasing discretionary spending and creating jobs. We have a great economy with low interest rates and affordable homes.
They will tell you President Clinton had a good economy, he would not have had a good economy except for the fact of the dot com bubble. New technology kept his presidency afloat, and that dot com bubble burst just befor he left office, leaving this country headed for a recession.
You cannot blame George Bush for the mortgages that are in trouble now. These were personal bad decisions.
He will go down in history as a very good president.

I can't speak for the left but,
Loyalty is one of the devil's virtues. Have you ever seen the Bible or any other holy book (not counting Anton Levay) tell you it is good to be loyal to people?

Even if you have no religous beliefs, you can see that loyalty can get you into trouble. Loyalty is sticking with someone through thick and thin--which means that even when they act wrongly, you are still supposed to support them or you are not loyal. In my life, I treat good people with love and respect, and good people mistake that for loyalty. If a friend acts badly, I let them know I disapprove. Supporting a friend's wrong action is just as wrong as making it yourself, so you have to be sure loyalty never leads you there.

One more passing shot, then I shut up--Hitler used the patriotism of Germany as a tool to his rise to power--so I am instantly suspicious of anyone who calls a person who is trying to accomplish something politically disloyal or unpatriotic. Standing behind your leaders blindly is the kind of patriotism that makes a Hitler. The unpatriotic people are the ones who don't care about our country--anyone who does care is taking part in democracy, even if they disagree with the leadership.

I believe in loyalty. I'm loyal to the troops in Iraq and their families, whether they believe this war is right or not. My nephew is there and his opinion is much different from the president's.
President bush hasn't sacrificed much except for the integrity and reputation of the US.
The rest of the world hates us because they view the invasion of Iraq as unjust. We can thank Mr. bush for that.

I don't think loyalty = blind support.

Also many Bush haters hated him from the moment he took office and that has not changed.

Remember that criticizing the president is a national pastime. I doubt I will ever hate the president although I may disagree on some things.

I wouldn't say we owe him loyalty, unless you agree with the policies. A better word would be respect. Even if we disagree with the President, we could do it with respect-
It's common to see the other side trash him with name calling and insults..and very little in the way of "constructive criticism".
I guess it's because of how they were raised?
I'd like to see more citizens actually respecting our country- or respectfully moving to France ; )

What sacrifice? I see no sacrifice that he has made. He is on vacation most of the time, either in ME or on his ranch. He has no family or friends overseas serving in the military. He and his cronies are making millions on oil and war profiteering.

As for 2 just wars, I feel that he has betrayed us for not getting OBL and taking us into Iraq under false pretenses.

He deserves no loyalty from anyone.

Loyalty was Replaced By Something More Important, Truth.

'Loyalty' to the Constitution of the United States is something Dubya and you should look into.

Suddenly the Office of the President deserves 'respect?'
It wasn't given a decade ago when Repubs dragged the US through a ridiculous circus of an impeachment.

Bush deserves neither respect nor loyalty. he has taken advantage of his position and the 9/11 event to strengthen Executive Power and loot our Treasury.
