I'm new at stuff like this, and I just learned last night that I should have done this already, but the line is always ringing "Busy". My partner died 2 and a half months ago!

How are you supposed to book an appointment when you can't get through to the number listed on their website? I just learned last night that this should have done already. My partner died 2 and a half months ago.

Why not send them a letter? That still works. Or if they have web site see if it lets you end reports.
Even if their phone is forever busy they will still hold you to their deadlines so try alternatives if the phone isn't doing it for you.

Tell them you need to report a large sum of money for taxes, 5 minutes topps.
