confused.. havent seen this in ages and it is on in the background.... I thought John Abbott died... in prison..... whats the deal?

He did. He keeps comng back as a spirit to set Jack straight. Kind of like a conscious.

He did die months back. But sometimes jack talks to john in his head. When ever he does something wrong - he would like confront his father. And how he would handle the situation he is in now. So jack brings his father back every now and then. To see if he is on the right or wrong path that he has set himself upon. Like john was talking to jack in today's episode that he did the right think by marring Sharon and by telling the truth about him owning jabot and then selling it back to Catherine. Then how he committed fraud and how he filed and hurt a lot of people with his manipulating and his seemingly.

He did die. John Abbott just comes back in the spirit when Jack lies or when he calls on him!

He did die, but he comes back as a Spirit and talks to Jack. He is the only one that can see him.

He comes back occasionally to talk to his son Jack. It seems he always appears when Jack needs him.
