I have an existing standard uk buzzer entry system which allows the communal front door to be opened from the entry phone upstairs.
However, during renovations the upstairs handset was disconnected and accidentaly removed. can i simply attach a standard uk phone to remaining wires ?? if so what wires do i need to connect to the red black green and yellow cables coming from downstairs? any help greatfully recieved as its driving me nuts !

Ask one of your neighbors if you can see how their handsets are wired.

You must use a wall phone of the same model as your neighbours, these are often made by URMET, but there are many other makes. If you have wiring left copy the connections from a neighbours system, there are usually 5 connections used.

A standard phone will not work. You need an intercom phone. Check with a neighbour and copy theirs.
