If you can't leave it for more than 30 minutes without needing a jump start then you need a new battery.
As far as the alternator charging it too much, yes that sounds like the problem.
You see, the alternator is designed to put out a constant voltage of between about 13 volts and 15 volts. It has a device in it to determine when it needs more voltage and when it needs less. Usually it needs more when your running all your accessories like A/C or the defroster, cruise, headlights and other things like this. The alternator is only putting out the higher limit of its voltage duty and your car doesn't need that all the time.

I hope I cleared things up for you, and Your battery is probably fried. The best way to know is have it checked. Have your alternator checked as well, before you spend the money on one.
Good luck

An overcharging alternator will cause this to happen, replace the battery and alternator or have the alternator rebuilt. If you dont change both at this point, you will have the same problem.

Edit:
If your battery is dead, your alternator will keep trying to charge it till the alternator fries from heating up after continous use. If your alternator is dead your battery will be drained until the car stalls and then it will need a recharge. if you keep running the battery down like this, you will kill the bettery quickly, automotive type batteries are not made to charge and discharge, they are made to keep a constant charge provided by the alternator.

Your first question is maximum in all danger the possibility swap assembly because of the fact it controls turn alerts because of the fact the relay is interior the possibility swap. 2d, have you ever checked the battery connections, verify the cables are sparkling & tight. quite take the cables off the battery & examine out the area that quite touches the battery. verify there is not any corrosion. examine the grounds on the motor vehicle, verify they're additionally sparkling & tight. As for the A/C gadget, i do no longer do something to the HVAC gadget till & till I verify the refrigerant value is on the desired quantities which potential till I knew for particular one in all the different men at our dealership already recharged the A/C gadget, i will evacuate, pull a vacuum & recharge the A/C gadget with the ideal quantity till i will needless to say see the line is leaking, and so on. yet this removes a low value difficulty. Then i could circulate from there, many times this is the compressor. those issues also have a diode interior the fuse block that in the event that they're undesirable, the compressor won't have interaction additionally. yet i could take the motor vehicle to a competent shop & have them seem at your matters as a replace of wager by potential of what human beings submit on right here. no longer a lemon, this is a 12 three hundred and sixty 5 days previous motor vehicle. no longer protecting the motor vehicle place that bought you the motor vehicle, or perhaps they did the paintings??? no longer sparkling on that>> yet why became into the ecu replaced???? according to danger you're able to have taken it to the dealership & enable them to look at it

Next remove the alternator and get it tested. A bad battery shorting inside can boil while charging normally. Most times if the alternator overcharges that will boil the water out of the battery. You stated that the battery did not hold a charge and you smelled sulfates rotten egg when charging. Once the battery is installed check the alternator AMP output and Voltage should be between 13.8 volts and 14.8 volts loads off idling.

The first problem is that your alternator is overcharging the battery from what you discribed. Have this checked at one of the big autoparts stores that will do it for free, you should be reading 14.6 volts at the battery but yours will be higher i bet. The second problem is that you have damaged your battery, and it will have to be replaced after you get your charging system problem fixed. When your battery (boils becuse of overcharging) it releases an explosive gas that can blow up in your face spraying acid everywhere, I have seen it happen. Be Very Careful!!!!!!

You can get the alternator checked at Auto Zone or Checker. If the alternator is bad then you will probably need to get a new alternator and battery. If the alternator checks out fine, then you will just need a new battery.

You need a new battery and if the alternator test after installing the battery shows it charging higher than 15 volts, you need a new alternator too.

sounds like ur battery doesn't have enough acid in it so that would mean you need a new battery..if you already have a new battery you need to clean the terminals with like very coarse sand paper and put the terminals back on..

but smelling like eggs sound like There's sulfur in fuel additives; your engine isn't burning it completely and your catalytic converter is storing it and then releasing it as hydrogen sulfide when you add load to the engine and force more air through.

Try switching gas stations, or fuel grades; then try a thorough tune-up: replace the spark plugs, plug wires, fuel and air filters, and oxygen sensor, and clean the fuel injectors.

If that doesn't do it, replace your converter.
