ok, my doctor called me with my test results... my hcg level was a 5 & my pregrestrone # was 0.6! When I asked her what this meant she said, it have lost this baby early. When I asked why I got a positive urine test at the doctors just on Thurs. she said, it must have been a positive negative result! What the heck does this all mean?

I am bleeding now, would that be considered my period or a miscarriage?

She is saying you had a blighted ovum. You were pregnant long enough to get your hormones to a level that would show on a hpt but then they dropped back down when the egg failed to implant properly and develop. You will likely get your period in the next few days. If you don't give your doctor a call and have your hcg tested again.

I had this happen a little over a year ago. Most women have this happen at some point, you didn't do anything wrong and there is nothing you could have done to prevent it. It's more common than most people know because sensitive hpts are so new and most women will still get there period close to on time and never know they were pregnant. It doesn't mean anything about your fertility or your ability to carry to term. It just happens.

It's hard to understand what you're saying but I think I know. I had a false positive pregnancy test a few months ago. My hcg was also 5, and the doctors said that I was never pregnant or possibly there might have been an embryo that couldn't attach. Sorry. But you can start trying as soon as you ovulate again. I did and I'm now 13 weeks pregnant. Good luck!

No it was not a positive/negative result! The HCG levels begin to go down as soon as the baby dies. And it can take a while for them to all be gone. If you still have "any" HCG in your blood at all, you will read pregnant.
I am so sorry. God bless you dear.

Also, You don't have any HCG in your blood if you are not pregnant. That is the pregnancy hormone.

Why didn't you ask your doctor? Why didn't your doctor tell you? He just gave you the numbers and hung up? Doesn't make any sense. Call her back. That's what she's for. To tell you what's going on.
