BTW... Iraq was never linked to Al-Quaida or Islamic Extremism until now...

By taking the fight to distant lands, and crippling the ability and hampering the logistics for the adversary to bring it to the homeland.

Don't be a self-hater... I'm a Muslim and an American. Pretty damn proud also.

Al Quaida and Islamic extremism flooded into Iraq to fight the US, largely backed by Iran, who absolutely does not want a US presence in the area. But this does not mean that Bush is to blame for it. I blame him for not trusting intelligent Americans to understand that Islamofascism must be fought wherever it exists and that Iraq was the best place to make a stand, with getting rid of Saddam and his weapons the perfect, legal starting point. Instead, he chose to leave needing Iraq as a base out of it. The weapons, which have been proven to exist, were not found because they had been moved elsewhere, and this weakened Bush's argument.

Taking on the extremists somewhere else drains their ability to fight us here. The big problem with Bush is that he refuses to close our borders, leaving them open for enemies to come in and wait before launching attacks.

Americans by and large don't understand the danger we are in. Someday, unfortunately, they will..and I'm afraid that's what it will take to get them to wake up and realize that the Islam of the extremists wants nothing but our submission to their way. They must be fought. It will take generations, not years.

It keeps the fighting away from us. And even when we do that, they sometimes sneak over here. (Do you realize how many U-boats were found off the Jersey coast after WWII? Do you want the modern equivilent of that??)
