Because men have yet to realize that you don't have to understand women, you just have to understand the one woman that you're with.
We have it easy in so far as men are fairly simple creatures - feed them, offer a few words of encouragement, give them buns, shut up every now and then and, generally speaking, they're pretty happy with their situations. Women don't really have a default so you have to ask questions, pay attention and assume nothing. For a lot of men, this just doesn't come naturally.

Its different operating systems for the sexes; men view everything mathematically and logically. A leads to B leads to C. It should not stray from that. Women intermingle Emotions into a lot of their thought processes though adding a lot more variables such that A leads to B and than to C based on whether D was acted on before or after E and whether F ever happened... etc. etc. with an infinite number of variables...

It's not really that difficult if you just accept that women are individuals and don't all fit into neat little packages.

If men and women figured each other out, there would be nothing left to the mystery of life. We strive all our lives to try and "get" each other. We can never ever come to any conclusion. We long for each other and you should be happy just to figue that out.

Probably because A. you haven't tried, and B. you think all women are alike.
Women are individuals. Get to know the individual and you'll understand her.
