Depends on the state you live in; check with the county clerk's office to see if you can and what documents you need and where to get them and what the filing costs are.

Go to the "register of deeds" at your local court house and find out if you can file for a divorce without the benefit of an attorney. Just maybe you live in a state where you can file the papers for a fee, usually about $200.00, then the judge will see either both of you or one. The divorce will be finalized.

I got divorced without a lawyer. You have to fill out the paper work and file them yourself. The big thing is you must agree on everything and not need a lawyer to negotate for you. I only had to pay the $180 filing fee. Good Luck.

Check the governent page for the state you live in or go to the local courthouse and they will have the paperwork there for you to file.
As long as he/she doesn't contest anything, then you shouldn't have a problem filing that way, but if the other party contests things, then you will have to get an attorney.
Good luck and best of wishes for you!

There are on-line resources available to do a divorce. If you have kids it will be a lot harder.

Hey, you can try it yourself, but as the old saying goes: you get what you pay for.
I wouldn't try to tune-up an engine, and you shouldn't try to practice law. Follow me?
