my baby always hated belly time and I honestlty think belly time is overrated. Do not push her to do things she's not ready to. I Know many 8-9 months old that just started sitting by themselves, so don't worry. Also she will put herself up and stand when she's ready, your baby is an individual, don't compare her with others.

If you are concerned, bring this to your doctor's attention, if they feel it is a problem they will let you know. I will say that my son hated belly time until he was almost 8 months and even then he didn't roll over very good. That is something every baby is completely different on. I would maybe suggest an exercauser to try to strengthen her legs and upper body to get her used to putting weight on her feet. Also, to help her sit up, use a bobby - I did that with my son and he started to sit up on his own. I would plop her in the bobby as often as you can during the day, get her used to sitting up on her own. It does all come at different times for different babies, but if you think she is not developing, please ask your doctor, they can shed some light on what is going on and she may just be going at her own pace. Good luck to you.

let me tell you a story. I worked at a daycare in the baby room. There was a baby who was 8/9 months and she never crawled. she layed on her tummy and when she was fussy we would flip her over and wouldn't sit. Finally after a while she would sit and sit for HOURS. never crawled one day she got up and walked. but before that would just sit and watch everyone and everthing like she was soaking it all in. and she was fine - totally normal.

your baby is fine. don't worry. just keep playing with her and laying her on her tummy and back and encourage her. If shes fussy being on her tummy turn her over and talk to her. There is no wrong way to do it. What your doing sounds great mommy! keep it up!

she could have low muscle tone, and could be due to many reasons. doctors probably will blow you off as an over reactive parent but if you have a gutt feeling, push them to find answers. jello legs is concerning. I have experience with my child being developmentally delayed and no doctor listened. come to find out, it was something.
so go find a good doctor

I would definitely talk to your peditrician about this. I am not going to say that every baby is different! There are certain milestones that your baby should reach by a specific age...please call your doc.

I'm sure she's fine. I put my kids in a Jump a Roo, it takes up a lot of room but they loved it. That may help her strengthen her legs. Don't worry, before long she'll be walking around tearing into everything in sight!

my 2nd was like that and started sitting at 7 months only if I put him, but as soon as he saw interesting things that he wanted to reach, he started sitting up by himself, and pulling himself up to stand, he is 8 1/2 months now. If I hold him he doesn't stand, he's too lazy. don't worry about it, she will do things at her own pace.

jolly jumpers are good for getting there leg strength up, or exersaucers too. she needs to build some strength so you just keep working with her, sit her up on the floor with you and just hold her hands, she will learn to balance more and more. same with standing, hold her under her armpits though. good luck

She's seven months, it sounds really normal. Don't worry. My daughter did some things really early and other things really late (didn't walk on her own until 14 months). She is now 2 1/2 years old and doing great (talking, climbing, talking, running, talking, playing, talking, coloring, etc.).

by 7 months they should be crawling and lifting up on objexts to an almost standing position...babies sit up by 5 months and tummy time is something you do for a newborn...7 months old should be able to roll over onto their back and lift their upper body with arms. somehting definitely does not sound right...call a doctor.
