Does giving birth hurt as much as when you have an usually large bowel movement?

I'm not joking, I'm asking for a comparison, because I don't have anything else to compare it against.

It was a totally different type of pain. The contractions almost felt like stabbing pains on the inside of my pelvis and as they eased off, it felt like I imagine a knife being pulled out of me would feel. I don't know if that's what it feels like being stabbed, but I swear it felt just as bad sometimes. After I had the epidural that stopped, though.

I won't lie, it does hurt but unlike toothache or a headache it is a good pain cos at the end you have a baby. The pain can be managed by attending birthing classes and learning breathing techniques and also there is pain relief available. I had 4 babies and women all over the world give birth so it can't be all that bad or we would not do it.

As soon as the baby is born the pain goes (yes you are a little sore) but the elation of holding your baby, you will not notice the afterbirth or anything - you just go into a cocoon with your beautiful baby.

Best of luck. XX

Not even close, its not pushing the baby out, its the contractions all over your stomach and back, of having constant Charley horses what is somewhat close but not that close. That is what hurts the most.

If your a guy you can not fathom or even imagine the type of pain it is, its painfully indescribable. I would not even say a kidney stone would be the same. As I said its not pushing the baby out of you its the labor. And between 4- 24 - 36 hours some woman have had

As much - no. Waaaay more...and for much longer, usually - unless you're very lucky and deliver reallly quickly...but the cramping feeling in a large bowel movement, especially in constipation or diarrhea, is the same type of feeling.

Imagine the worst PMS pains and times them by 100.

Wow...there is no comparison!! You'll never be able to imagine before hand how much it hurts! But, the good side is when you see that baby, you just somehow forget. Otherwise noone would ever have more than one baby. I had 2 natural no drugs and I'm pregnant with #3.

O.K., as a male I don't have a clue. But, I can tell you what my mom compares it to: passing a large kidney stone. She knows because she has endured both, multiple times. However, the good thing about having the baby, she says, is that you forget all about the pain once the baby is placed in your arms.

hahahhaha, this is funny. It's more like your worst period cramps multiply by 100, combined with stomag bug pain and a big bowel movement LOL. It's a little bit of all. Enjoy!
